Caecīna ( Cēc- ), ae, m., a surname in the gens Licinia, originating in Etruria (pure Etrusc. Ceicna, O. Müll. Etrusk. 1, p. 416), among whom the most celebrated is Licinius Cæcina, for whose Roman citizenship Cicero made the oration pro Caecinā, Cic. Fam. 6, 7, 1; 6, 6, 8; Suet. Caes. 75; cf. Sen. Q. N. 2, 39, 1; 2, 49, 1.—Hence, adj.: Caecīnĭānus, a, um:
